Comments on The Developing Physician. Becoming a Professional
Abstract
The "comprehensive" training of future doctors is an issue that worries various actors, including society itself and the Faculty of Medicine, committed to an improvement plan that includes going beyond the biologist bias of the current curriculum. In recent decades, the literature on medical education abounds in articles dealing with issues related to these aspects of training, which they call "professionalism."
The article that is presented analyzes some topics that the authors understand can help to go through "the transformation from being a student in class to being an experienced clinician caring for patients". In turn, they propose practical ideas on how to include them in the curricula and analyze the role that all actors in the health system have in shaping the professional.
