Abstract

Today we want to share with you the enormous satisfaction of having overcome the innumerable difficulties that we had to face in the year that ended. The Medical Journal of Uruguay resumes its periodicity and the usual distribution, that is, delivering it to the associates' homes.
The editorial process consists of multiple stages: from the moment the scientific work is presented to its publication. These make up a complex system in which each of its parts depends on the others, the final result being much more than the sum of the parts. Difficulties were present to a greater or lesser extent in many of them. But contrary to what would be expected, due to the crisis in the country and the health sector, the number of papers submitted for publication continued to increase, showing that Uruguayan researchers also developed strategies to continue working. The medical union thus shows that creativity, the generation of knowledge, is one of the most genuine responses to the crisis.
