Thrombophilia and pregnancy
Diagnostic and treatment guidelines
Abstract
Thrombophilia is related to maternal-fetal morbidity and mortality, mainly in relation to venous thromboembolic (VTE) and arterial thromboembolic events, as well as obstetric alterations such as PRE, intrauterine growth restriction (RCIU) or fetal growth restriction (RCF), Pre-E severe and early, among other complications. Therefore, it is important to evaluate those pregnant women who are at risk of thrombotic disease or obstetric complications according to personal or family history, or both, in an attempt to prevent such complications. In the absence of studies of good methodological quality and with the objective of performing an interdisciplinary work, it is that from the EMC course of the Hematology Chair on "Thrombophilia and pregnancy", in May 2010, the need arose to carry out these diagnostic and treatment guidelines that contemplate the greatest number of situations based on the best available evidence.
First, the evidence is reviewed and then the recommendations agreed by the PARO working group of the Hospital de Clínicas and the Pereira Rossell Hospital Center are presented.
