Abstract

It was always necessary for professionals, teachers and researchers to update their theoretical knowledge in order to face the tasks inherent in their work with greater strength. Until not so many years ago that objective was achieved, for the average of professionals and university teachers, periodically accessing a good book published in a reference center or some thematic review in a specialized level magazine.
But the world has changed dramatically in the last two decades. On the one hand, the production of knowledge has had an exponential growth product, among other reasons, of the impulse that in today's world is given to science and technology as support of the new economic and social paradigms. On the other hand, the also explosive development of information and communications technologies has substantially reduced the time variable in the processes of dissemination of scientific knowledge and its adoption.
While the period that existed between the sending of a scientific work by the authors to the editor of a magazine and the presence on the shelf of news from the newspaper archive of the publication that contained it was averaging two or more years, today it is possible Access the online version of an approved manuscript several months before the paper version is printed.
Faced with this changing reality, it was necessary to respond urgently with a national, articulating and inclusive perspective, to put our academic and professional world in tune with the new demands.
