Abstract

Two notable facts converge in this third issue of Volume 26 of the Medical Journal of Uruguay.
We have to summon a new edition of the Uruguay Medical Magazine Award - Roemmers Laboratory, which will be awarded to the best original article published in Volume 26, corresponding to the four issues that will be published during 2010. As has been the tradition, The decision will be in charge of a three-member Court, appointed by the Council of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of the Republic, the Executive Committee of the Medical Union of Uruguay and the Editorial Board of the Medical Journal of Uruguay.
The other unique aspect of this issue is that the practical realization of a strategic collaboration project between the Medical Journal of Uruguay and the Archives of Gynecology and Obstetrics, a scientific publication whose origins date back to 1942 (1), is inaugurated.
The agreement signed between the Medical Union of Uruguay and the Uruguayan Society of Gynecology allowed the Archives of Gynecology and Obstetrics to become the first associated publication of the Medical Journal of Uruguay.
